was initially incorporated in Nevada in 1947 as the Las Vegas Police Protective Association.  At that time it only represented Police Officers with the City of Las Vegas Police Department.  The Association continued to grow and in 1973, with the advent of merger between the City of Las Vegas Police Department and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the Association changed its name to the present form and also incorporated the then Deputy Sheriffs and County Corrections Officers.  Today the Association represents over 2500 rank and file Police and Corrections Officers that are employed by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Marshals employed by the City of Las Vegas.
